I live at the beach and wanted an outdoor ceiling light that was stylish and green. These lights fit the bill! The ribbed shade reminds me of a shell and they are fluorescent so they consume less energy. I hired someone to put them up for me so I don't know about the instructions and assembly but I didn't hear any complaints or comments about them. They look fantastic up and I'm very happy with my choice.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
