Q: Would the 1JC Mesa Pendant be appropriate for a fixture in the "open" area of a room, i.e., not hung over a table or counter? Can you adjust the length of the pendant?

A: You are able to adjust this pendant to have it closer to the ceiling. The canopy's (or base) dimension is 5" in diameter and 2.5" in height. This fixture uses 75 watt incandescent light bulbs which does give a good amount of light.
